You have 2 options:
Of these two options, Whatsapp is the easiest and fastest way of getting hold of me. Because I am mostly busy with a client during the day, I cannot always answer calls but I can quickly reply to a Whatsapp in-between sessions or while I am busy with an assessment. If I am not available immediately, I will get back to you within 48 hours.
Payment is due at the time of service. Here is how it works:
Assessments – Payment confirms your booking. Assessment consultations are paid before or on the morning of the assessment. You will receive a receipt which you can then send in to your medical insurance to claim back should you wish to.
Counselling – Payment depends on whether you prefer to pay privately or claim from your medical insurance. If you choose to pay privately, sessions are paid before or after a session. If you choose to have the sessions claimed from your medical insurance, claims will be sent to them but you will still be responsible for the amount they might not cover. Some people prefer not to claim because they prefer not to involve their insurance provider in the treatment or have a diagnosis label on their health record. You can find the tariffs for the different options on the investment ribbon.
Training – Payment confirms your seat. All training sessions need to be paid in advance to reserve your place.
Assessments for aptitude are done from 8:00 to 13:00 on weekdays or Saturdays depending on availability. When an assessment is booked, forms will be emailed to the parents to be completed and mailed back to the office. Parents leave their child at the office and collect them again when the assessment is done.
Feedback sessions are scheduled for the afternoons or evenings a week later. Parents attend the 60 minute feedback session with the assessed learner where the results will be discussed and the report provided. Unfortunately parents are not allowed to attend the assessment session or discuss whatever issue in front of the child. Should parents have the need to discuss the child being assessed, they need to send an email, put it in writing on the forms mailed beforehand or book a separate consultation session. Whatsapp is available for booking a session but not for discussing private matters or concerns
Assessments booked by schools will be done at the school on a date chosen by the school. Feedback will be done in a group setting at the school a month later. The different payment options depend on the specific school’s policy. Assessments at schools have lower rates because the assessment is done in a group which saves on time. But the same amount of effort and professionalism goes into the interpretation of the results and each report is still a beautiful, comprehensive high quality product printed in colour.
Often when we need to get somewhere, we can get there without a GPS. Roads may be familiar, or we could have asked for directions before we set off or we may find someone to ask for directions on our way. But sometimes, we may find ourselves in dangerous or unknown territory or maybe just get lost because we were distracted or didn’t focus on our journey.
There might not be anyone around to direct us or maybe they can’t help us because they also don’t know our destination. That is when we definitely need a GPS. Using your GPS then does not mean that you’re stupid, incompetent or crazy. The GPS is just an objective tool guiding you to find your destination (the destination you have decided on). We all get stuck and feel lost at times on our life journey. A therapist and life coach is like a GPS, helping you to get back on track by empowering you to be in control again.
It means that what happens in my office, stays in my office! I am not allowed to share any information disclosed to me in a session unless the law orders me to, a child or older person in care is in danger or my client might be a danger to himself or others. I will even carry the confidentiality into the community and not say hello when I see a client somewhere.
Those who know me will know that I rarely acknowledge someone driving or walking past me – I am that absent-minded. When you are with me all my attention, energy and focus are on you. But once you leave my office your words stay where you left them – in my office, I deliberately “delete” my hard drive (my mind) before my next client comes in. To parents – this also means that I am not allowed to share with you what your child has discussed with me during our sessions. Even if you pay the bill, the child is my client and has the right to confidentiality.
Psychometric assessments are powerful scientific tools that identify your strengths, behaviours, motivations and interests. These tests are reliable and valid: results stay stable over time and statistical studies have been conducted to ensure that the tests measure what is intended. These tests are typically used to:
Psychometric tests are scientific-based and standardized assessment instruments that portray objective information about a person’s psyche. Administering and interpreting these tests adhere to strict ethical rules and regulations of the South African Medical and Dental Board. Only registered professionals are allowed to administer and interpret these tests.
Just as a blood test would help you to manage your health, the aptitude test could help you manage your future career choice. The aptitude assessment measures your ability to solve problems in different academic and technical fields. Like a blood test it is also scientific, reliable and objective.
The interpreter (me) has no control over the outcome. But just like a blood test, it only shows information gained by the screening. By combining the results obtained with other tests and an in-depth discussion with you, we could make a prediction to what career options would be a good fit for you. I am not psychic (well, maybe a little bit) and I cannot open your brain and see what is going on in there but I can use a scientific test to help me find your strengths. It is a professional process and service just like reading a blood test or X-Ray.
